A STOLEN car was found burnt out in a field near Oakley.

Two fire crews attended the wreckage of a silver Mitsubishi Shogun in a field off Ivy Down Lane, Malshanger, at 6.30am on Thursday, August 27.

Around 5,000 tonnes of hay bales and a hedge were also alight.

The firefighters, from Basingstoke fire station, took three hours to put out the flames. The car was completely destroyed.

Police said the car had been stolen from the driveway of a home in Portland Place, North Waltham, the night before.
