A NEW welding training facility could soon be built in Basingstoke if the application is given the green light by the borough council.
Gus Kadare has applied to the borough council for permission to change the use of Unit 5-6 in Telford Road to a D1 - non-residential use - to provide a welding training facility.
The application says that if approved, the facility will be used in partnership with BCoT, the Skills Funding Agency and Social Services to “provide training for the unemployed, young offenders and members of the public”.
The facility will host 10 students a day and the applicant has proposed sessions between 9am and 4.30pm and evening sessions between 6pm and 9pm, Monday to Friday.
