BOMBAY Sapphire Distillery is a step closer to opening in Laverstoke after launching its website where bookings can be made ahead of the October launch.

The distillery, at Laverstoke Mill, is set to open to the public on October 1, when visitors can discover how the gin is made and find out more about the ingredients used.

The self-discovery experience offers visitors the chance to explore the site using an interactive map that activates various displays and audio clips.

Visitors will take in the beautiful natural surroundings walking along the River Test to the Entrance Hall, and step back in time to uncover the fascinating history behind the mill in the Heritage Room.

The 10 exotic botanicals in Bombay Sapphire gin will be displayed in the Glasshouses and Botanical Dry Room.

Guests can then go behind the scenes of the unique vapour infusion distillation process in the Dakin Still House.

The experience ends in The Mill Bar, where every visitor will be given a drink to enjoy beside the River Test.

Buses 76 and 86 from Basingstoke and Winchester stop right outside Laverstoke Mill, and there is also a large car park on site for those choosing to drive.

Basingstoke design agency The Escape, based in Hatch Warren, was commissioned by Bombay Sapphire to create its new website.

Dan Smith, sales, marketing and events manager for Bombay Sapphire, said: “The distillery website is our shop window, a chance for us to showcase exactly what visitors will experience when we open to the public on October 1. Laverstoke Mill is a beautiful location for the home of Bombay Sapphire and we needed a website that would reflect that.

“We worked closely with The Escape from concept to completion and have been extremely impressed with their creativity and attention to detail which has resulted in a stunning, image-driven website.

“As we move towards completion of the build in time for October 1 we will continually update the website with photography to further enhance the website and our Facebook and Twitter feeds.”

Rob Jones, managing director of The Escape, added: “Until you really learn about how Bombay Sapphire is made, it’s hard to appreciate the creativity, passion and craftsmanship that goes into creating the fastest-growing premium gin in the world.

“The distillery will be a truly memorable visitor attraction for that reason and more, and we’re very proud that the experience will begin when tickets are booked through the website we planned, designed and built.”
