POLICE officers in Hampshire have some of the best fitness levels in England and Wales, latest results show.
Hampshire Constabulary had a pass rate of 99.4 per cent for tests that will become compulsory on September 1, the College of Policing said. The fitness test involves a 15m shuttle run that is also used on prospective officers.
Of the 801 Hampshire officers who took the test, 796 passed. Male officers fared marginally better than female officers, with a pass rate of 99.8 per cent, compared to 98.1 per cent.
Only four out of 32 forces in England and Wales fared better than Hampshire – City of London, Humberside, Lincolnshire and Surrey.
