A MAJOR road in north Hampshire has been closed in both directions after a serious crash.
The crash took place this afternoon on the southbound carriageway of the A34, between Whitchurch and the A343 junction.
Firefighters from Basingstoke fire station were called to the scene at 3.45pm.
Three cars and a caravan were involved in the crash. Two people have been taken from the scene by air ambulance, while two more left in land ambulances.
Southbound traffic is being taken off at the A343, while northbound traffic is leaving the A34 at Bullington Cross.
