AN OFFICE worker in Hook with a fear of heights is set to jump out of a plane at 10,000ft.
Angela Thorburn will do a tandem skydive over Peterborough on September 3 to raise money for the RAF Association.
The 46-year-old, head of HR at an electrical firm in Hook, has such a fear of heights that she described a trip on the London Eye as the worst experience of her life.
Angela, who used to live in Basingstoke but now lives in Fleet, said: “I am trying not to think about the moment just before I jump, but I’m just going to have to take it on.
“I am nervous and apprehensive but at the same time I am never going to have a better opportunity to face my fears head on.”
She will jump with a member of the RAF Falcons, the Royal Air Force’s parachute display team.
The RAF Association provides welfare support for past and present members of the RAF, and their families, and is entirely funded by donations.
