THE promotion of Basingstoke has been given a boost – thanks to a leading marketing firm.

The Purple Agency is the latest firm to pledge its support to Destination Basingstoke.

The company, based at One Faraday Office Park, is a Basingstoke success story, working with global corporations and other well-known brands on marketing and public relations campaigns.

Now, the award-winning agency has agreed to help Destination Basingstoke maximise the impact of its promotion of projects and events across the borough.

As a core sponsor, the team from Purple will use their expertise in marketing and PR to bolster efforts to put Basingstoke on the map.

Steve Shaw, managing director at The Purple Agency, said: “As a business with its base in Basingstoke, we have seen at first hand the good work that Destination Basing-stoke is doing to promote the town, and we wanted to find a way to support this and become more involved in the local business community.

“Marketing and PR is of course our area of expertise, and with clients up and down the country, we are looking forward to offering our help to Destination Basingstoke.”

Destination Basingstoke – a not-for-profit company – promotes Basing-stoke and the surrounding area through projects and events such as the Basingstoke Half-Marathon, A Place to be Proud of Awards, and the Inspire Business Awards, in which The Purple Agency won the Marketing Campaign of the Year category last year.

Destination Basingstoke managing director Felicity Edwards said: “The Purple Agency has a wealth of expertise from their work with major corporate, and our partnership will help Destination Basingstoke develop its PR and marketing strategy.

“As a small company with limited resources, this sort of support is vital.”

Like The Purple Agency, Sentinel Housing Association has also recently become a core partner of Destination Basingstoke.
