BASINGSTOKE MP Maria Miller has shown her support for a local foodbank service.
Mrs Miller attended the fourth Neighbourhood Food Collection, which is a partnership between the Trussel Trust, Fareshare and Tesco, at the supermarket’s store in Chineham Shopping Centre.
The partnership collects long-life food products such as rice, pasta, tea and coffee and distributes them to vulnerable people across Basingstoke.
The Basingstoke MP said: “Thanks to the generosity of shoppers, Tesco staff and volunteers from the Trussel Trust, the collection is proving a great success.
“The foodbank is an important local support service for those who find themselves in really difficult circumstances.”
