THE Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) has given a four-figure boost to a Basingstoke hospice.
Members of AWE’s community committee handed over a donation of £1,000 to St Michael’s Hospice, in Aldermaston Road, as part of the company’s commitment to supporting local charities.
Helena Maskell, senior fundraising manager at St Michael’s Hospice said: “The money will be used to fund the annual cost of maintaining our hoists – ensuring we can move patients safely and legally.
“The support of all the AWE staff makes a huge difference to the hospice.”
