Dance will mark retirement of Professor Mike Fulford
A PROFESSOR, who has led the Silchester dig since it began in 1997, is set to retire.
To celebrate Mike Fulford’s huge contribution, the village will host a special supper and barn dance on August 2.
The event, from 7pm to 11pm, will feature a live band and barn dancing, a beer and wine tent, supper, a raffle, a silent auction and a fireworks finale.
Tickets for the dance, in the Barn, Old Manor House, Church Lane, cost £16, with concessions for children.
