PUPILS were put through their paces when a fitness instructor visited their Basingstoke school.
Personal trainer Kayley Easterbrook led a fitness session with Year 6 pupils at Manor Field Junior School, in Haydn Road, Brighton Hill.
Among the exercises that children did were star jumps, press-ups and burpees.
The trainer, from Maximum Fitness Boot Camp, in Overton, also gave a presentation to the children about the importance of keeping healthy, and how doing exercise can have a positive effect, physically and mentally.
The session was organised in advance of a feast of healthy food, which took place at the school last Friday.
Children have been making healthy versions of popular dishes and offered them for sale to parents.
Year 6 teacher Jenny Bunkle, who organised the fitness class, said the youngsters have been learning about healthy eating and exercise.
She said: “They got a lot out of it and a few of them went home and got their parents to do the exercises that evening.”
