A ZIPLINE in Overton that has fallen into a state of disrepair could be fixed in the coming weeks.
Overton parish councillors agreed at their July meeting that £2,750 should be made available to repair the zipline, at Edward Kersley Playing Field, before the start of the school holidays.
The cost of replacing it was also discussed, but councillors agreed that the quote of £10,000 was too expensive.
Councillor Peter Baker, said: “The cost of that is ginormous.YThe posts are about 10 foot high – how can they justify all that money?”
He also questioned why the zipline needs repairing, adding: “Why after the short time have they gone rotten. If it was made of decent oak, the legs should not become free.”
