TESCO has announced that it is launching a free click and collect service at Chineham Business Park.

The service will allow customers to order their shopping online and have it delivered to Chineham Business Park to collect on their way home from work, rather than visiting a store.

It is also expected to be useful for local residents who can pop into the business part to collect their shopping at a time that suits them.

The launch in Basingstoke follows a successful trial at six underground tube stations in London.

Tesco plans to launch around 50 other non-store collection points.

Jack Pearson, local corporate affairs manager, said: “We’re always looking at ways to make shopping easier and more convenient for our customers. Home delivery is really useful when people know they’ll be in, but for those on the go this service offers more flexibility.

“It’s proven popular in London and I hope that our customers in Basingstoke will find it just as useful.”

The collection point at Chineham will be open from 4pm to 7pm each weekday, with groceries picked for customers in the Basingstoke store and transported to Chineham Park in a temperature controlled van.
