Vodafone staff aim to pull in the pounds for a Hampshire charity
A TEAM of graduates from Vodafone will be aiming to pull the pounds in for a north Hampshire charity next week.
Six graduates from the company, based in Newbury, will be taking part in a “store wars” competition, taking over the Naomi House charity shop at the Chineham Shopping Centre on Thursday, July 17.
The team, who have named themselves the “Vodafone Funraisers”, will aim to raise £1,400 through sales and fundraising activity for Sutton Scotney-based Naomi House and Jacksplace Hospice.
The event, which has a “glitz and glamour” theme, will see a range of activities on offer, including face painting, games for children and a tombola.
Live music will also be offer from band Wildcard between 1pm and 2pm and Three Spirit between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
Linda Ikwuagwu, a business analyst in enterprise sales, at Vodafone told The Gazette: “It is something Vodafone gets involved and we support Naomi House as a local charity.
“We wanted the event to have a more upmarket feel and we spoke to the manager about what sells in the shops and they said it was clothes so we thought we would dress to impress.”
