TWO schools from the north Hampshire area will take part in the final of a competition to promote road safety.
Sherfield School, in Sherfield-on-Loddon, and Long Sutton Primary School, near Odiha, are hoping to win the Junior Road Safety competition at Winchester fire station on Wednesday, July 9.
All six school staking part are regional champions in the competition organised by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The final will involve youngsters play detectives at a crime scene, take perception tests and complete road sign jigsaw puzzles.
Station manager Robin Dellow, the service’s lead for road safety, said: “It’s magnificent to see so many youngsters taking on this important responsibility as junior road safety officers.
“Their enthusiasm is great and I’m looking forward to seeing them all at our Champion of Champions event.”
