A VILLAGE pool has received a cash boost from a fitness company.
Maximum Fitness, which offers boot camp classes and personal training, has donated £500 to Lordsfield Swimming Club to help with its running costs.
The company has agreed to become the club’s annual sponsor, and presented a cheque at last weekend’s Overton Primary School fete.
As reported in The Gazette, the pool, which is at the school, in Court Drove, had been under threat of closure following funding cuts.
Lauren McCann, from Lordsfield Swimming Club, said: “This is another positive step in our journey.”
Kayley Easterbrook, who founded Maximum Fitness, said: “The sponsorship fees are solely from myself.
“I am a village resident, born and raised here, so, like many others, I grew up with the pool and wish to see my daughter and future generations benefit from such a fantastic facility.
“Contributing and giving back to something that’s greater than ourselves is very rewarding.”
