VILLAGERS in North Warnborough had a first look at a plan to build new homes.

Banner Homes is looking to submit a planning application to build 37 homes between Hook Road and the Basingstoke Canal. Fourteen of the new homes will be affordable, and the mix of housing will range from one to five bedrooms.

The plan also includes a new play park and footpath links to the canal.

More than 55 people attended a public exhibition, held by the developer, at the Cross Barn, in Palace Gate Farm, Odiham, including Councillor Ken Crookes, leader of Hart District Council and ward member for Odiham and North Warnborough.

Plans of the scheme were on display and villagers could talk to representatives from Banner Homes to air their views.

Banner Homes said the scheme raised both support and concerns from those who attended the exhibition.

A statement from the developer added: “Drainage was a significant concern expressed by a number of residents and further work and investigations are already under way following anecdotal evidence expressed at the meeting.”

Banner Homes hopes to submit a detailed planning application to the district council in early July.
