PAST pupils of Aldworth School are being invited turn back time for a special school prom to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

All former pupils at the school, previously known as Richard Aldworth School, are welcome to buy tickets for the special evening, which will take place on Saturday, September 6.

The theme for the evening will be ‘prom night’ and the dress code will be smart, with no jeans or trainers. There will be plenty of entertainment, drinks and food available on the night.

The event is being organised by four past pupils at the school who are raising money for The Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is raising money for the creation of a new cancer treatment centre in north Hampshire.

The centre will offer treatments such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy and will be based in a location yet to be confirmed, but thought to be in the patch of land encircled by the M3, A303 and A34.

Glynda Amos, one of those on the organising committee, said: “The event is open to anyone who left the school from 1964 to 2014 and all proceeds will be going to a really great local charity. It should be a wonderful evening.”

Past teachers at the school are also invited to the special night, for which there will be 400 tickets available, costing £10 each.
