STAFF at a Basingstoke fast food restaurant are hoping to help smash a world record for the most amount of cars to go through a drive-thru in one hour.
Workers at McDonald’s, in Basingstoke Leisure Park, will try to beat the current record, which stands at 226 cars, on Saturday, June 28, between 1pm and 2pm.
Gladstone Makazhe, assistant manager at the restaurant, said: “It is a lot of cars to get through in one hour, so we will have extra staff and will be working with the police to make sure that the traffic is managed correctly.
“All customers will have to place an order, and during that hour, everyone will get a free sugared donut.”
