Whitchurch church considers loan scheme
A CHURCH is considering offering financial assistance to people struggling with money at the end of the month in a bid to stop them from falling prey to loan sharks.
Whitchurch Town Council received a letter from All Hallows Church, in Church Street, Whitchurch, asking if the council knows of people in the town who rely on pay-day loans.
It said the church is considering offering assistance to “tide people over to stop them going to sharks”.
Councillors suggested that the church publicises the potential service in its parish magazine.
