A NEW decision-making cabinet has been formed to run Hart District Council following last month’s local elections.

All political parties at Hart are represented in the cabinet, which was announced last Thursday at the council’s first full meeting since the May 22 elections.

The election night left the council without one single group or party in overall control, with the Conservatives, who had run the council as a minority administration, losing two seats.

A series of meetings took place between the three political parties – the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and Community Campaign Hart (CCH).

The new cabinet contains three Conserva-tives and two members each from the other parties.

Councillor Ken Crookes remains as leader and is also cabinet member for economic development and corporate finance. His Conservative colleague Cllr Stephen Parker remains deputy leader and cabinet member for planning.

Conservative Cllr Anne Crampton takes responsibility for community wellbeing, while Liberal Democrat councillors David Neighbour and Adrian Collett are responsible for housing and regulatory services respectively.

Cllr Alan Oliver is cabinet member for environment and technical services, while his CCH colleague Cllr James Radley is cabinet member for corporate and customer services.
