A MAN has been arrested this morning after officers forced their way into a flat in Popley.

Officers went to Tasmania Close at 8.10am, following a call reporting a concern for the welfare of a man with a head injury.

Police said officers from Hampshire Constabulary’s Force Support Unit forced entry to the flat to check on his welfare and prevent further incident, after he refused to let them in.

A 45-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of affray at 9.40am and taken by ambulance to Basingstoke hospital for his head injury.
