Thief steals military medals in Hartley Wintney burglary

A THIEF stole military medals belonging to the father of a man from Hartley Wintney.

The burglary took place between 9am and 5.30pm on Monday, June 9 at a house in West Green Road.

The thief took jewellery from the house as well as the military medals that belonged to the deceased father of the 65-year-old victim.

The medals, a CBE, OBE and CB, were all engraved with Rear Admiral CWH Shepherd.

PC Vicky Brackstone, from Aldershot police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of this incident.

“These prestigious medals are absolutely priceless to the victim and I would urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact the police.”
