A WOMAN had to be freed from her car after a crash on the Basingstoke ring road early this morning.

A total of ten firefighters from Basingstoke fire station attended the incident at around 2.30am, on the roundabout linking the A340 Ringway West, and the A339 Ringway North.

The car is thought to have been driven on to the roundabout, before turning over and landing on four wheels. No other car was involved.

Firefighters freed the woman in 20 minutes and she was taken to hospital with a wrist injury.
