WOW…It’s June 2014 already! I really do wonder where the time goes.

The saying that “time and tide wait for no man” is so true. Whilst the origin of the saying is unknown, it seems to pre-date modern English with the earliest recorded usage being by Saint Marher in 1225.

Whatever the origins of the saying, it is one that proves itself true over and over again. The truth of this comes to the fore when we think about faith. When I became a Christian as a teenager in the 1970s, many of my friends said that this was something that they would “consider later” and 40 years later most of them are still saying the same thing.

When it comes to matters of faith, we should remember “there is no time like the present” as Paul reminds the Corinthians when he writes; for He (God) says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2 (NASB).

Make time today to consider God.
