WOMEN affected by breast cancer can find out more about living with the condition at a free information session in June.

Charity Breast Cancer Care is holding its first session in Basingstoke, called Signs and Symptoms of a Possible Recurrence, at The Ark Conference Centre, on June 19, from 10am until 1pm.

The talk will offer women the chance to hear from Doctor Emma Pennery, clinical director at Breast Cancer Care, who will talk about the physical changes that may be experienced after surgery for breast cancer, the current evidence on lifestyle factors and the associated risk of recurrence.

Dr Pennery will also speak about the possible signs and symptoms of a recurrence, and what to do if an unusual change is noticed.

The interactive sessions have an informal atmosphere and will give participants the chance to hear from an expert speaker and ask questions about the subject.

There will also be the chance to meet other women from the local area and find out more about the wide range of support services offered by Breast Cancer Care.

Those attending are welcome to bring family and friends.

Although the event is free, participants must register in advance by contacting a member of Breast Cancer Care’s regional services team on 0845 077 1895 or by emailing src@breastcancercare.org.uk.
