A LOCAL charity is holding a special celebratory evening to thank all of its hard-working volunteers.
To celebrate National Volunteer’s Week, Sebastian’s Action Trust is holding a cheese and wine evening on Wednesday, June 4.
The event will also be an opportunity for potential volunteers to find out more about the charity, which runs The Bluebells, a holiday home for seriously-ill children and their families in North Waltham.
Caroline Holton, chief development officer for the Trust said: “Our volunteers are vital to the work we do here at the Trust, we simply could not achieve what we do without them.
“We recruit, train and accommodate hundreds of volunteers necessary to support The Bluebells and the activities and events put on by the Trust.
“Our volunteers not only give time to gardening, decorating and administration, they also provide transport to and from hospitals, befriend our families and provide much needed support at our activity days.
“The evening is a great opportunity for the charity to not only show-case its’ work, but also illustrate how volunteers truly are at the heart of what we do.
“Prospective volunteers will also have a chance to meet the team and chat over a glass of wine or a tea or coffee”.
The evening will be held at The Bluebells between 5pm and 7.30pm.
