THIS is the man police want to speak to about an assault in which a teenager suffered a cracked cheekbone.

The 17-year-old victim was walking along Cayman Close towards Shakespeare Road, in Popley, on his way to see a friend at around 10.30am on May 10 when he was approached from behind and punched in the face by an unknown man.

He fell to the ground and looked up to see three men standing over him, one of whom then kicked him in the face before they all ran off.

PC Ricky Davis said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack in which a teenage boy sustained nasty injuries.

“Although rare, these types of incidents cannot be allowed to happen.

“This incident happened in a residential area where people may have been going about their business. Did you see anything? Do you know who might be responsible?”

The first man is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, 6ft 1-2ins tall, of a stocky build, clean shaven and had short light brown hair. He was wearing a blue hooded top and grey shorts.

The second man is described as white, aged 17-18, 5ft 7-8ins tall, of a medium build, clean shaven and had spiky brown hair with blond highlights. He was wearing a red hooded top and blue jeans.

The third man is described as white, aged in his mid 30s, 5ft 8ins tall, of a skinny build and clean shaven. He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey shorts and white Reebok trainers. He also had a tattoo on the back of his neck, which was a word in italics.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Davis at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
