PLANS to build 200 new homes in Bramley have been submitted to the borough council.

Charles Church Southern Limited has applied to build the new homes on land at Minchens Lane, in Bramley.

The plan involves transforming empty agricultural land for the new homes which will be served by an access road off Minchens Lane.

The development would include seven named areas called The Gateway, The Front Room, The Lane, Ten Acre Place, Clift Avenue, Clift Mead and The Meadow.

The application says: “The site is a very sustainable location for a new residential development, being located within only 450 metres of the railway station and easy/viable walking distance of a range of key facilities including Bramley Primary School, the local doctors’ surgery, and the local shop and post office.”

The application added that the development would provide a “walkable neighbourhood which is a safe area for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles, not car dominated and an area within which people can enjoy living”.

It continues: “The proposed scheme incorporates a significant area of green space, including public open space that is well connected and biodiversity rich.”

If approved by the borough council, the application would meet the number of homes that are allocated to be built in Bramley over the next 15 years in Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s draft Local Plan, and construction work to build the homes would start in late 2015.
