Chip shop applies to extend opening hours
THE owner of a Basingstoke town centre fish and chip shop has applied to extend its opening hours on Friday and Saturdays.
The L and K Fish Company Limited has applied to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to extend the licensing hours of Festival Plaice, in Wote Street, so that the restaurant and takeaway can operate from 11pm to 4am on Fridays and Saturdays in addition to the current opening hours. The company has also applied to extend the opening hours on Sundays that fall on a bank holiday until 2am.
Currently, the restaurant is open from 11.30am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 11pm on Sundays. A public consultation on the application closes on June 6.
