THE principal of a Basingstoke college, who was due to start a new position as chief executive of a college in Bradford in September, has changed his mind about the move.
Anthony Bravo announced in April that he was leaving Basingstoke College of Technology after five years at the helm to take on the new role at Bradford College.
But now, having reflected on the decision, Mr Bravo has withdrawn his application for the post of group chief executive, and will be staying on at BCoT, in Worting Road.
He said he had time to think about the new post during a month-long trip to China with BCoT, adding: “While I was away I had time to reflect on the decision and the potential impact on my family and felt the distance would be too disruptive.
"There are lots of exciting projects underway at BCoT, especially new relationships with colleagues in China that I look forward to developing.”
A spokesman for Bradford College said: “Having reflected on his domestic circumstances, Anthony Bravo has decided to withdraw his application for the post of Group Chief Executive.
“We would like to take this opportunity to wish Anthony every success for the future.”
