GENEROUS shoppers donated more than £1,200 for a good cause.

The Basingstoke Salvation Army held a collection at Sainsbury’s, in Kempshott, on April 24 and 25, and shoppers at the store donated £1,228.07 for the charity, which offers a helping hand to those who are homeless or in need.

The money raised will be used for community work of the Salvation Army across the UK.
