A CAT lover has raised vital cash for the Basingstoke branch of a charity.
Sara Sayers, who lives in Hatch Warren, has raised £1,500 for the Basingstoke and District branch of Cats Protection after running the VirginMoney London Marathon in support of the charity.
After completing the event in seven hours and 10 minutes, the 48-year-old said: “Running over Tower Bridge was amazing – but the best thing was raising £1,500 for the Basingstoke and District Cats Protection.”
Hilary Wells, branch co-ordinator of the charity, added: “We are really grateful that Sara completed this challenge on our behalf. If we didn’t receive such wonderful support from our local community, so many more cats would needlessly remain homeless.”
