BCoT students flew to Barcelona to see how engineering, construction and automotive technologies differ in Spain to the UK.

The group of 20 learners from the engineering, automotive and construction departments packed in a wide range of activities during their stay.

One of the highlights was a trip to the Formula One circuit in Catalonia to see how it was designed and constructed.

They also visited the Nou Camp, home of Barcelona Football Club, where they had a tour of the grand stadium and its museum.

Christian Clifford-Jones, head of engineering at BCoT, said: “STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Maths) subjects are vital to the UK industry. They develop our students’ awareness of emerging technologies and trends.

“Taking part in overseas trips allows our students to tap into these technologies and given them a broader insight and experience into this ever-changing market.”
