VOLUNTEERS in Hook, who help older people get to medical appointments, have been honoured.
The Hook Care Group received a community award from Hook Parish Council, at the annual village meeting at Elizabeth Hall on April 23. The group, chaired by David Burke, has 30 volunteers who either drive or act as co-ordinators, travelling more than 11,000 miles last year.
Val Bushnell, who uses the scheme, nominated the group for the award.
