PARKLANDS hospital has won a county-wide competition for having the most active staff.
Staff from the hospital, in Aldermaston Road, which is run by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, took part in a Workplace Challenge, run by Sport Hampshire & IOW (SHIOW).
Staff took the crown after competing with other local businesses and organisations to rack up ‘activity points’, gathered by team members taking part in physical challenges and activities over the course of eight weeks.
All activity was logged on the Workplace Challenge website which calculates an average for each workplace based on the number of participants.
Workplace Challenge was launched on January 6 to encourage local businesses and organisations to promote a healthier workforce and take part in more physical activity.
It was co-ordinated by 22 out of the 49 County Sports Partner-ships in England, with Sport Hampshire & IOW (SHIOW) co-ordinating Hampshire and Isle of Wight’s programme.
Two new challenges, Dakar Rally and Hampshire Coastline Walk, have now been launched.

SHIOW will also be running a series of inter-company sports tournaments over the summer.
