THREE people have been arrested in Basingstoke following an operation targeting drugs supply.

Officers stopped a car in Alexandra Road, Brookvale, yesterday afternoon and seized suspected Class A drugs.

Mohammed Sheikh, 24, of no fixed abode, and Sanik Gurung, 25, of Quantock Drive, Ashford, Kent, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. They are due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Later that afternoon a 25-year-old man was arrested in Lilac Way, Winklebury, on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

He was bailed pending further enquiries until July 1.

The arrests were part of Operation Fortress, Hampshire Constabulary’s dedicated campaign against drug-related violence.
