THE Basingstoke Multicultural Forum is holding its annual general meeting on May 1 to try to promote understanding of different cultures, religions and communities.
The meeting, which is being held at Chute House, in Basingstoke town centre, and starts at 7.30pm, aims to organise social, cultural and educational activities between different communities.
The forum is supported by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and provides a channel for minority communities to raise any issues and give their views to the council.
The Forum Trustees said: “This forum plays an important role in bringing together different cultures to create cohesion, while providing opportunities to voice issues and ideas.
“If you or your community are interested in the forum and the work it does, or would like to offer your time to further the forum’s objectives, then we would encourage you to attend the AGM to share your views.”
The forum believes that the work it does helps Basing-stoke’s black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to thrive, which benefits the community as a whole.
Members of the public who want to promote understanding of minority cultures, religions and communities are invited to attend the AGM.
