THE FORMER chairman of selectors for the England cricket team entertained enthusiasts in Hartley Wintney.
Geoff Miller, who also played in 34 tests for England in the 1970s and ’80s, gave a speech to members of Hartley Wintney Cricket Club in the library at The Elvetham Hotel.
The speech was part of an event organised by Paul A Webster Wealth Management, a firm based in High Street that sponsors the cricket club.
Around 70 members turned up to hear Mr Miller speak, before bowling some questions at him.
Melanie Richardson, marketing director for the firm, said: “It went very well. Geoff was brilliant and he was very generous with his time.
“He talked for well over half-an-hour, and told stories about his time on tour with the England cricket team, back in the days of Ian Botham, and he was doing impressions and jokes.”
Hartley Wintney Cricket Club begin their Southern Premier League Division Two campaign on Saturday, May 3, with a home fixture against Sparsholt.
