FITNESS lovers took part in an intensive day of classes to raise hundreds of pounds for a local charity.

The Hampshire Court Hotel, in Great Binfields Road, Chine-ham, opened the doors to members of the leisure club and non-members and raisd £437.57 for the Firefighters Charity.

The charity, based in Basing View, provides rehabilitation services and recuperation for firefighters who have been injured whilst on duty, and are suffering from stress and illness.

Fitness instructors gave their time for free at the “fitness fiasco” event and held sessions including zumba, Pilates and a range of other fitness-themed classes.

More than 90 people turned up on the day and paid £1 to take part in classes. And sweet treats, donated by Bramley Village Bakery, were on offer for people who had worked up a sweat.

Ellie Lucas-Smith, studio co-ordinator at The Hampshire Court hotel, said: “It was hugely successful again and we are always pleased with the response.

“I would like to thank all of the instructors who taught for free, and all of our members who came along.”
