SCIENCE equipment from the Atomic Weapons Establishment, at Aldermaston, was used by primary schoolchildren to investigate what was in the bottom of their pond.

Pupils from Buckleberry Primary School used pond dipping utensils, including underwater magnifying pods, to identify what was living in the pond.

Paul Dalgarno, AWE schools liaison representative for Buckleberry School, said: “The feedback I have received from the teachers is that it is of huge benefit to children in supporting their science curriculum. It helps bring science to life.”
