THE FUTURE is looking bright for Basingstoke’s town centre post office after it was given a makeover.

The post office, in London Street, has reopened after a major refurbishment project started at the site on February 3 as part of a multi-million regeneration scheme for all post office sites across the country.

Branch manager Susan King and her team cut the ribbon to unveil the new modern looking branch, with customers being greeted with a welcome point at the entrance and new flooring.

Other additions include four open-planned counters, a screened counter, a dedicated mail counter and two additional counters dedicated to travel products such as foreign currency.

The revamped branch also boasts two private consultation rooms where customers can chat with specialist advisors about Post Office’s range of financial services products and broadband services.

Branch manager Susan said: “It looks shiny, new and more modern. It is nicer for the customers. If they have to wait, they have got a nice seat to sit on rather than standing in an ancient queuing system. It is a lot more personal.”
