BUSINESSES and homes in Whitchurch were encouraged to turn their lights off for 60 minutes as part of Whitchurch Earth Hour, last Saturday.
People in the town were invited to switch their lights off at 8.30pm for an hour on March 29 by charity WWF, to raise awareness of the threat of energy wastage.
Shareen Brown, Earth Hour manager at WWF UK, said: "This year's Earth Hour has been incredible with 158 countries and over 7,000 towns and cities taking part.
"We're proud to have such a huge global community of people who want to take action for our beautiful planet - and what's really exciting is the impact it's having."
