A RESEARCH project into people’s lifestyles will begin in Hart this month.

The work will see researchers knock on people’s doors to conduct 10-minute interviews, looking into topics such as physical activity and drinking habits.

The project has been funded by a grant given by Hampshire County Council to Hart District Council in January.

Councillor Anne Crampton, Hart Cabinet member for housing and health, said: “Health and wellbeing is a top priority for Hart, and we would ask all residents who are contacted by our researchers to take part in this survey.

“We know how important it is to hear directly from our residents about their own experiences and by collecting accurate information we can support our residents as best as possible.”

Some of the work will be done in the early evening and on weekends to ensure the project hears from residents at work during daytime hours. It will be carried out in partnership with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Meanwhile, Hart has received ano-ther grant from Hampshire County Council for four health projects.

The projects to benefit from the £86,000 grant involve cookery classes for the over-55s, promoting volunteering in the health sector, the promotion of a healthy eating award, and improving health services for gypsies and travellers.
