POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Popley on Friday.

The incident occurred just after 10am on Friday, March 28 on Melrose Walk, Popley when the 23-year-old male victim was approached by two men who demanded money from him before hitting him in the face and escaping in the direction of the Abbey Road shops with £120.

The first suspect is described as a mixed race man in his late 20s of slim build, about 6ft tall, with very short black hair.

He was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit with three orange stripes down the arms and legs.

The second suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s who is of an athletic build and about 5ft 10ins tall with short mousey brown hair.

He was wearing stonewash blue jeans, a black t-shirt and a black unzipped sports jacket.

Detective Constable Andy Panter from Basingstoke CID said: “Were you in the area at the time of this incident and did you see anything that may assist with our investigation?

“Perhaps you witnessed the incident itself or saw two men matching the description of the offenders in the area.”
