WITH teachers set to walk out on strike this Wednesday as part of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) industrial action, schools in the borough are preparing to close or partially close as a result.
The NUT has organised the strike action over an on-going dispute with the Government about issues regarding excessive workloads, performance related pay and unfair pension changes.
Although teachers do not have to inform their headteachers of their intention to strike, some schools have been able to establish the impact ahead of the day and have taken the decision to announce partial closures.
