ANOTHER Basingstoke secondary school has announced it will partially close on Wednesday because of the teacher strikes.
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) has organised the industrial action over an on-going dispute with the Government about issues regarding excessive workloads, performance related pay and unfair pension changes.
Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College, in Wessex Close, is the third borough school to decide to partially close because of the strike.
Robert May's, in Odiham, and Aldworth School, in Western Way, have also announced partial closures.
Cranbourne will shut to all years except Year 11.
The Year 9 parents evening will go ahead as scheduled however, on Wednesday.
Betty Elkins, headteacher, said in a letter to parents: "As we are unable to re-schedule events from a strike day there is no advantage in attempting to try and change the date. I realise this is frustrating for parents who may wish to see specific teachers but please understand that the matter is beyond our control."
