GENEROUS shoppers helped to raise just over £1,130 for a hospice that helps terminally-ill patients and their families in Basingstoke.
A collection for St Michael’s hospice, in Aldermaston Road, held at the Kempshott branch of Sainsbury’s on February 21 and February 22, raised much-needed funds of £1,130.87.
The collection will go towards the annual £3.6million running costs of the hospice, with £3m needing to be met through fundraising.
Lynne Grimshaw, community campaigns co-ordinator at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “Thank you to all of our volunteers for their wonderful support on the day, and to everyone who donated to the collection.”
