A MAN fought off a knife-wielding mugger who attacked him in Tadley.
The assault took place on the grass between Herriard Way and Farringdon Way between 7.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday, February 18.
The 37-year-old victim was approached by a man who asked him to hand over his mobile phone.
The two men then fought and the victim was hit on the head several times and slashed with a blade. He managed to fight off his attacker and run away.
The victim was treated for superficial injuries to his head, hand and stomach at Basingstoke hospital.
The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall and of average build. He wore dark, possibly black trainers with a white stripe from top to sole on the inside of the shoe.
He also wore baggy dark-coloured trousers and a dark, thin top with thumb holes at the bottom of the sleeves.
