THE site of a former tyre dealer in Headley is being regenerated – with new homes springing up as part of a new development.

Eight affordable two and three-bedroom homes are being constructed at the former Headley Tyres site, off Newbury Road.

The homes at the Duke’s Manor development, which are being built by Bloor Homes and delivered through Radian, will be available in the summer for residents to either rent or buy under shared ownership.

Family-run business Headley Tyres left the site last year to move into a new facility in the village.

Radian project manager Victoria Turnball said the scheme will provide vital affordable housing in the area.

She said: “Affordable housing in the countryside is in short supply and is a real issue – there just aren’t enough properties being built, and it’s local families who suffer as a result.

“We’re delighted to be providing the community with high-quality and affordable houses at Duke’s Manor, in Headley. It’s a superb new development that is bringing new life to the site.”

Five of the Radian homes will be for affordable rent allocated through Basingstoke and Deane, and three will be available for shared ownership.
